horn player, professor, impresario and composer (1792-1876)
Puzzi was the most celebrated horn player of his time. He traveled the courts of Europe, moving to England around 1817 on the invitation of the Duke of Wellington. He played first horn at famous venues such as the Philharmonic Society, Concert of Ancient Music and King’s Theatre.

Later, he took up the post of Professor of horn at the Royal Academy of Music. He married Giacinta Toso, a famous opera singer. Puzzi also composed and arranged his own music and, worked as an impresario.

The horn held by the Horniman was played by him.
