There's always something going on at the Horniman Museum and this quarter we've got a full programme of special events for you visitors to choose from. Please select the event you're interested in from the links to the left.
Below are some events with a range of activities visitors can join in on:
Sustaining the Future
Sat 2, 9 Oct
12 – 4pm
Explore how you can help preserve London and the planet for the future and join a range of activities developed by young people for you to enjoy. Get creative with recycled materials, join a special Discovery session or a youth-led tour.

Meet Lewisham’s first Writer-in-Residence
Sat 9 Oct
3 – 4pm
Join Chrissie Gittins to read poems from her third children's collection, 'A Humpback's Wail', selected by the Poetry Book Society as one of the two top choices for the children’s poetry bookshelf this year. Hear her poems inspired by the Museum and contribute to a group poem at this special event.
African Worlds
Free admission
Everyone welcome. Poems are aimed at children over 7 and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
Big Draw
Sat 16, 23 Oct
1.30 – 3.30pm
Inspired by the beautiful paintings in the Pardhan Gond exhibition, contribute to our tree of life with your own drawings.
