About this event

Join us for a day of activities inspired by Ernest Shackleton and other Edwardian Adventurers. This event is part of the Big Wednesday series which takes place throughout August.

Join our Horniman adventurer as he battles through the extreme, adverse weather conditions.An interactive adventure by Tea Dance for Little People and inspired by our Extremes exhibition.
Gardens 11.00 – 11.30am, 12 – 12.30pm, 1.15 – 1.45pm
Free, everyone welcome, all children must be accompanied by an adult

Bunting Bonanza!: Join South East London Arts Network to make some adventurous bunting to decorate our Edwardian Bandstand!
Bandstand 1pm, 1.30pm, 2pm and 2.30pm.
Free, limited places, all children must be accompanied by an adult

Balinese Gamelan drop in sessions: Join other families and play bronze gongs, drums and cymbals to creat interlocking melodic and rhythmic patterns.
Hands On Base 11.00 – 11.45 and 12.00 – 12.45.

Story trail: Follow a trail through our gardens to read a Wind in the Willows adventure.
