About this event

Grab your dancing shoes and head to the Horniman Gardens for our weekly series of concerts on our Edwardian bandstand. We have given our Edwardian Summer a contemporary twist and programmed a musical cabinet of curiosities bringing together musicians and influences from across the world.

This week, join us for a performance of Wara, one of the most exciting new acts to emerge from the London scene.

The band is a hot melting pot of identities with backgrounds that span the world map: Cuba, Argentina, Venezuela, Chile, Ghana, Congo, Spain and the UK. They play a tight fusion of Salsa, Timba, Soul, Funk, Afro-Cuban grooves and Dubstep. Layered with contagious vocals from Congolese-Argentinean lead Juanita Euka, with Eliane Correa behind the keyboard and Murmur on the rhymes, the dancing never stops.
