2-3.30pm: Adriano Adewale
Rooted in the musical traditions of Brazil and infused with contemporary jazz styles inspired by the natural world, percussionist and composer Adriano Adewale’s music is a fusion of musical genres performed with an outstanding ensemble of international musicians. Witness the rich chemistry of cultural influences at work when the Adriano Adewale Group gets together on stage.
4.30-5.30pm: Byron Wallen
Widely recognised as a seminal figure in world jazz, Byron Wallen is constantly travelling the world recording, teaching and performing. His new album, Indigo, is a reflection of environmental and biological sounds from around the world: the inspiration for the music comes from the deepest parts of the Central African rain forest, the remotest parts of Papua New Guinea and Indonesia, the early music of Europe as well as the more obvious influences of jazz, funk, drum and bass and blues.
11.30am-1pm: Discovery for All
Come and visit our Hands On Base and explore dozens of real objects inspired by animals and the natural world. Our team of Explainers will help you discover these fascinating objects and make connections between them.
11am-3.30pm: Family Art Fun – Rainforest Masks
Have fun with art skills and exciting techniques to create a colourful mask, decorated with rainforest creatures and plants. For families with children aged 3+
2-2.45 & 3.15-4pm: Storytelling
Join us in our Hands On Base for these enjoyable oral storytelling sessions and discover fascinating stories inspired by animals from around the world. For families with children aged 5+
