The Horniman, through its collections and related exhibitions and events, seeks to encourage a wider appreciation of the World, its peoples and their cultures, and its environments.
In order to take this message out into the wider world, we have developed a selection of exhibitions for hire, drawing on our own collections material or made specifically for tour. We are actively looking to establish new partnerships with groups and venues.
Our touring exhibitions are:
- Bali - Stories and Dance
- India Recycled
- Journey Through Japan: Photographic exhibition
- Wycinanki – the Art of Polish Papercuts
For further information on our touring exhibition offer, please download our brochure or contact us by email at touringexhibitions@horniman.ac.uk.
Objects in Focus
Taking inspiration from the Museum Association's Effective Collections, this programme offers museum objects on temporary loan to other institutions. The objects chosen for the project have either been in storage for a number of years or on display but with limited interpretation.
During 2011, the Horniman will be touring a taxidermy specimen of an endangered albatross and our mysterious merman. Each object will be on display at each institution for eight weeks.
For more information on our Objects in Focus, please email Helen Merrett.
