            "value": "Janina Ma\u015blanka (ne\u00e9: Marci\u0144czak; at times she uses the name Marci\u0144czak-Ma\u015blanka or Marci\u0144czak-Ma\u015blankowa) is one of the most recognised contemporary painters of the Podhale area.  She was born and grew up in the town of Nowy Targ and here, in the early 1990s, she learned the technique of painting on glass. The Ethnographical Museum in Krakow organised an individual exhibition of her paintings and helped to promote her work.  She has participated in a number of exhibitions in Poland and, in addition, had individual shows in Slovakia and Germany. \nShe favours sacral themes, usually interpreted in the everyday realities of the Podhale area. For example, in this painting all persons except the Three Wise Men, are presented as local Highlanders (G\u00f3rale)."
