            "value": "Ms Tythacott is a Chinese-speaking anthropologist and a museum curator and currently lectures in Museology at The University of Manchester.  She specializes in the interpretation of Chinese material culture in Western Museums. She is Managing Editor of Museum and Society.\n\nThe Louise Tythacott Collection was compiled as the result of intensive fieldwork over several years in South China and Hong Kong. Ms Tythacott is a Chinese-speaking anthropologist and a museum curator, and was Curator of Ethnography at Liverpool Museum. She was particularly fortunate in developing contacts during the course of her work. Ms Tythacott has also made collections for the Museum of Mankind.\n\nPreviously Tythacott worked at the Smithsonian (1990) and The Royal Pavilion in Brighton (1992-1996).From 1996 she worked as Curator \/ Head of ethnology at Liverpool Museum (now World Museum).\n\nShe is the author of \u2018The Lives of Chinese Objects: Buddhism, Imperialism and Display\u2019 (2011),   among several other publications.\n\nThe Louise Tythacott Collection was compiled as the result of intensive fieldwork over several years in South China and Hong Kong. Ms Tythacott has also made collections for the Museum of Mankind."
