Following a brief visit to London, George Astor opened a business there with his brother (John Jacob Astor, 1763-1848), and took sole charge of the company in 1783. His widow continued the business from 1813. Flutes made by George Astor normally have one key.  Astor was one of a few London-based makers who used the unicorn mark to identify their instruments."
