            "value": "Professor Jeremy Keenan is an anthropologist. He studied at Exeter University and it during this period he began to conduct fieldwork on the Tuaregs of Algeria. He is know known as an expert on Algeria and the Sahara region. He is currently (2011) a professorial research associate at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.\n\nFrom 1969-1972, Jeremy Keenan, then at the University of Exeter, was involved in acquiring Tuareg specimens in southern Algeria as an agent for the Horniman. The Advisory committee initially agreed to provide \u00a31500 for purchases. However, during Keenan's trip in 1970 the unstable conditions at Temanrasset Oasis in Algeria meant that the collecting had to be abandoned. In the subsequent year he returned as part of a Granada television documentary on the Tuareg and managed to complete his collection for the Horniman on this visit. David Boston described the collection as the '...the only significant documented Tuareg collection in this country and contains items overlooked in the major collections in France'."
