End-blown trumpet. The conical tube is of heavy wood. The sides are straight in profile. A raised band in the wood about three quarters of the way down separates the body section from the bell. The bell also has straight sides but is of greater conicity. Ferrules are formed of flattened heavy wire wrapped round in twelve places between the upper rim and the top of the bell, six are of copper and six of a darker metal, all apart from the lowest are wrapped in a clockwise direction from the player's perspective.
