Whistle, duct flute. Three short pieces of cane, arranged with one at the top and the other two parallel to each other beneath. The top pipe acts as a mouthpiece and directs the player’s breath into the lower tubes. The upper rims of the lower tubes are obliquely cut and angled away from the central tube so that each meets the middle tube at a pointed edge. The lower tubes, which are of unequal length, are both stopped at the bottom with domed black wax plugs. They are bound together with a vegetable fibre cord, which is wrapped around their outer surfaces and extended as a carrying cord.
