See full details Description

Romanian bag-hornpipe, possibly a cimpoi, built for single reeds throughout. The chanter and auxiliary drone are carved from a single piece of wood with parallel bores, terminating in a horn bell. The bore for the chanter has six scalloped finger holes, and is on the player's right . The drone pipe is on the left, with a single finger hole, which it shares with the lowest hole of the chanter. The bass drone is in two joints. The drone stock, chanter stock, drone upper joint and the blowpipe are inlaid with white metal in a recurring cross pattern. A string of beads is suspended from the chanter stock. A strap is attached between the upper joint and the stock of the bass drone.
