Figure carved from solid wood, in the form of a male Noh actor playing the part of Sho-jo, the god of sake. The clothing is indicated in paint in orange, yellow, green, and grey chrysanthemum patterns. There is a fan of the same design in the right hand. Hakama (trousers) are in 'seigai-ha' design of gold and orange waves. The under-kimono is indicated in red with silver flowers. The model has thick hair, which reaches to the ground behind him, and is painted red. Characters on the base of right foot read 'ichi-hana' (maker's name).
