            "value": "A piece of cut-pile raffia cloth.  This textile has been made in two sections: a warp end of each section has been sewn together.  A dark brown stepped triangular  pattern covers the lighter brown tabby woven fabric, using the cut-pile raffia embroidery technique. An overstitch has been used to confine the  pattern.   The embroidery does not go through to the back of the textile.   At one selvedge is a row of applied raffia, giving a bobbled effect.  The reverse of the fabric has been dyed after weaving with a purple dye."
