Russian bassoon, dark stained wood, brass mounts, unlined sockets. Three brass keys. Closely folded crook (two bends) with semi-circular mouthpipe. Brass bell, dragon's head shaped, decorated in reddish brown (perhaps over original colour). Mouthpiece probably original. One key removed and hole stopped. Upper ends of butt and bass joint cracked. Stamped: Jeantet Lyon.
