There are panels of woven straw attached to the hooves with string. Rider separate from horse. Head and hands are of flesh coloured material possibly plastic. Glass eyes. Black hair tied in a knot on top of head. Long headdress of netting secured to cream headband with purple stitching with bow and two streamers at nape. Four layers of cream fabric wrapped around neck suggesting under garments. Outer garment has gold and blue brocade sleeves bound with orange cord at the wrists. Body armour consists of a breastplate of gold, grey and metal bands joined with orange cord. Two metal bosses on breastplate, one on each side, each with a central hoop. Back plate is plain, black lacquered with a black string attached on boss in middle. On string (which is not original and probably added to keep the items together) is a black metal container with a hoop above for carrying arrows. Body armour on the upper arms of similar construction to breastplate. Around the waist a roll of thick cream damask fabric. Pale gold trousers of damask fabric. Seven panels of body armour suspended from waist, two to rear, three to front of similar construction to breastplate, two single panels of gold metal decorated with black lacing \/ cord, one covering each lower leg, attached to trousers by a pale grey piece of fabric. Lower legs appear to be made of fabric tubes stuffed with an unknown substance and stiffened with external rods. On the feet are straw sandals (waraji) tied with string between the toes. Feet appear to be painted grey to suggest  tabi. Model sword in a fibre sheath through waistband. Overall (inc horse and rider) 435 mm W x 480 H x 150 mm D"
