The body is made from a coconut and the soundboard is vellum, tightened by laces. Between the soundboard and the body is a ring of striped cotton. It has two straps. One being made of leather. The instrument itself is new. This instrument is the typical instrument of Rajasthan. Length 79cm, depth of soundboard 14cm.\n\nBow for Ravanhatta. Rajasthan. g. John Levy, London. Wooden bow. Horsehair and strings. Rattle-bells attached to the bow. Metal mounting at the end of the bow. Length 55cm (across string), width 10cm."
