The tapa is divided into 2 stripes and smaller rectangles by narrow dark brown lines. The decoration in the bands goes across 2 rectangular areas.  They contain foliate or geometric motifs, some of which are repeated. In 1 set of 2 bands diagonals create an overall X-shaped motif, containing lettering.             "value": "Rectangular cream barkcloth with painted decoration in light and dark brown. The textile is seemingly from a larger piece as  the patterns at one shorter end  appear to be cut off. The tapa is divided into 2 stripes and smaller rectangles by narrow dark brown stripe and bands. The decoration in the bands goes across 2 rectangular areas. The first 1 seen from one shorter end contains stripes and short diagonals with 1 dentate patterned edge. The next band contains cruciform patterns created with chevron and circular motifs. Next is a band with leaf-shaped motifs. This is followed by a band containing diagonals decorated with small foliate motifs. Across the width  they create a chevron pattern with repeats of the cruciform motif in the background. This is followed by a band containing foliate motifs. A mirror of the diagonal patterned stripe follows. A foliate patterned band separates this from 2 bands also decorated with the diagonals. These form an overall X-shaped motif, with each of the diagonals containing lettering instead of the small foliate motifs.[MOES\/SM(\/T)MA\/LE; OTANI AAHAU; KUES\/SM(\/T)OAPU; MANUMAYM(\/T)AONC(G)O] This is followed by another foliate patterned band."
