            "value": "Community Commentary by Ashiyanbi, Akeem Abiodun within research project: 'Rethinking Relationships and Building Trust around African Collections' 2021\n\nSeweje bread was quite popular in the Sango\/Bodija axis of Ibadan, all the way to Mokola roundabout. It was established by Baba Seweje in the 1980s and functioned till the late 1990 the bakery exists at back of the Seweje building. Two Seweje brothers built their houses side by side at Elewure area of the Awolowo junction at Sango and it was the elder brother that went into the bakery business. According to Bose Seweje a woman in her mid-forties, who happen to be wife to one of the sons of the late baker, Seweje bread cut across and she herself in her maiden years used to visit the bakery to buy bread which she sold as retail. It was during one of her foray to the bakery that she encountered\/met one of the sons of the baker to whom she eventually got married.  \n\nThe Seweje bakery used to be located at the junction to Bodija Awolowo road at the Elewure bus stop in Sango area of Ibadan. The bakery business was discontinued at the demise of Baba Seweje in the 1990s. A 20 year old grandson of the late Baba Seweje the baker, when interviewed could not supply any information and could not recall ever having heard about the bread before. He claimed it was before his time and nobody in the family ever discussed owning or operating the bakery in his presence. The bakery in question is still in existence under another management and it produces under the name Nifemi bread. When interviewed, the current occupants and bakers could not give any information on Seweje bread because they never heard of it before their acquisition of the bakery."
