            "value": "Rectangular, woven, black and white painted rattan mat. The corners are slightly rounded. The type of rattan from which the mat was woven is 'rotan sero', and was collected by the maker while she was pregnant with her first child. These mats can last for many decades so long as they do not get wet. The decoration consists of a central panel and a border.  The overall design is called 'remau' = 'tiger'. The panel contains 3 repeats of a motif. Each  consisting of a central four-pointed star-like motif which is surrounded by 2 curvilinear frames ending in sets of coils. The spaces created by the sets within the frames, and the corner elements are also decorated with further star-like, and triangular motifs. The border contains an undulating line framed by a pair of white lines either side."
