The piston book entry reads: 'Date given out: 5th Feb. 1880; No. of piston: 24306; No. of instrument: 24905; Description: Bass 4V 8; Class: Comp; Date received: 12th March 1880; Date made up: 23rd June 1880; Workman's name: V. Roekaerts'. The entry for the complete instrument reads: 'Date given out: 23rd June 1880; Date received: 30th July 1880; No. of piston: 24306; No. of instrument: 24905; Description: Bb bass; Model: A84; Charged to Regent Street: 19th Aug. 1880; Given to polish: 30th Jul. 1880; Workman's name: Seidel'. The instrument was one of an order of four euphoniums made at the same time.
