



Dilruba, long necked fretted fiddle. The waisted, rectangular body made of a single piece of wood, probably teak (Tectona grandis). Goatskin table. The convex neck with 18 curved brass frets. The head with 4 wooden pegs for the main wire playing strings, and 5 bone pegs for wire sympathetic strings. Originally there were 17 wooden pegs set into a wooden plank running down the right side of the fingerboard, now 4 are missing. Arched bone bridge.
