            "value": "Trapezoid saddle cloth made from red velvet decorated with silver-coloured spangles and couched metal-wrapped thread, as well as embroidered detailling in yellow, and 2 shades of  blue and green. The outside is surrounded by a green velvet border, and  a yellow, and a red fringe on 3 sides. The lining consists of red silk textile with yellow, cream and pink ikat patterns. The red velvet centre has been sewn together from 6 pieces. The decoration consists of a centre panel with 2 distinct areas surrounded by 2 borders.  The one closer to the narrower side consists of an undecorated medaillon shape (possibly the area where the saddle would rest ?) framed by couched thread either side of a line of spangles. The larger part of the panel contains 6 pointed ovoid shapes decorated with floral\/foliate motifs on a spangled background. The space between these is decorated smaller motifs worked in couched metal-wrapped thread and spangles. The inner border consists of a blue and yellow undulating vine framed by spangles. The outer border is framed by lines consisting of couched metal-wrapped thread. The centre consists of an undulating floral vine in yellow, blues and greens with metal- wrapped thread outlines against a spangled background. The coloured areas in the ovoids are either couched with a contrasting coloured stitch, or worked in coloured thread. The other motifs and borders are raised by couching over some cut-out paper shapes used as padding. At the side and back the join between the red and green velvet has been disguised with a yellow silk woven fringe with knotted detailing. At the outside edge is a red silk fringe with plied ends. The lining has also been sewn together from sections of one cloth. The ikat pattern consists of what appears to be a cream lattice pattern . The smaller diamond shapes are ringed with red. The larger diamond-shapes are decorated with irregular bands of pink and yellow."
