            "value": "This magnificant emboirderd kusaibi from Sierra Leone was collected by Paul Shuffrey, District Commissioner of Pujehun in the south, in the early 1920s. A gown of this type would have been worn by someone of considerable high status, given the time invested in both weaving and dying the cloth it is made from, and hand embroidering the elaborate geometric patterns that adorn the front and the back. These designs often depict forms that signify high status, such as the 'compound' motif in the central square section on the front, and the small bird on the back."
