Sheet of red wedding gift paper, roughly rectangular and with torn edges. There is an inscription in black on the front of the paper, reading “茂康永, Mào kāng-yǒng”, the name of the donor of the gift.

possibly a gift envelope. It is an old Chinese tradition for parents to give their children a red envelop with money on Chinese New Year’s Eve. People also give a red envelop to newlywed couple.
