Compare with an example in the Brenthurst Collection at the Johannesburg Art Gallery (accession number JL-F-42) illustrated in Havran (1991, p 167, catalogue number 354), and with a number of pipe bowls in the smoking pipe collection formed by William Bragge, now housed in the British Museum, for example Af,Cd.13."
