The information contained in the accession register and catalogue cards clearly indicates that 36.106 is a 16ft long blowpipe plus a feathered dart measuring 47.5in. 36.107 is an additional dart for the blowpipe, measuring 45.5in. The blowpipe that is marked as 36.106 is far too small - it measures just over 5ft in length. Is it possible that some of the length has been cut off for ease of storage, and the other part(s) mislaid? The catalogue cards states that it was on display as a whole object ('shown in spear case owing to great length'). The dart that is currently stored with the blowpipe appears to be 36.107, as the measurements match this object exactly. The dart that should be part of 36.106 is therefore missing. Jennings, Rachel; 2015-08-05.\n2. Meant to be associated with (and is packed with) 36.107. Register suggests there could possibly be another feathered dart but this seems unlikely as blow-pipe is referenced in the dart record and vice-versa.\n1. Annotated Moyne exhibition catalogue (p13) in Documentation File reads: '257 Two bamboo blow-guns and feathered darts; the longest measures about 18 feet; used propped against the branches of trees for shooting birds.
