Two cik\u0101r\u012b and nine sympathetic strings pegged from the side of the neck. The nuts for the cik\u0101r\u012b strings are two fixed bone posts beneath the fourth and eighth pegs on the side of the neck. The inferior string holder is a triangular bone plate nailed to the base of the gourd, with two hooks projecting from it. The bridge for the main strings is faced with bone.
