Lid of a Maori feather or treasure box engraved on the outer surface only. Two human figures are carved in relief, facing with their heads towards the end. The surface is divided in to four quarters by scrollwork, infilled with rows of diamonds. These four quarters are each infilled with a double spiral in the same style.
