            "value": "Textiles (dyeing) Collection Head-scarf (woollen cloth - printed) Japan. \"An example of a printed copy of a tie-dye design or \"shibou\" as it was called in Japan. During the 19thC when these printed copies were introduced the craft suffered a severe set-back. The hand made article could not compete in price with the printed one and so gradually the craft died out except for a few areas where the traditional shibou methods are still practiced.\" Anne Maile The scarf is dyed indigo with a pattern of small squares in white reserve simulating tie-dye spots.
