Confirmed FK.\nSubjects are taken from the 2nd volume of 'Geng Zhi Tu (Illustrations of Tilling and Weaving)', a woodblock printed book printed in the 35th year of the Kangxi reign period (1696). A colourful paunted rendition was produced by the Kangxi court artist, Jiao Bingzhen (active 1680-1720). He edited the contents and the order, using the album leaf format to create 23 images each for agriculture and sericulture. The individual subjects are: 1. Bathing silkworms (yu can); 2. Second sleep of silkworms (yi mian); 3. Third sleep of silkworms; 4. Big awakening (dai qi), feeding the silkworms; 5. Growing silkworms in bamboo trays (zhu ji); 6. Dividing bamboo trays for rearing silkworms (fen bo); Collecting mulberry leaves (cai sang); 8. Setting up the bamboo frames for the silkworms to spin (shang cu); 9. Keeping the silkworms warm (zhi bo); 10. Picking cocoons from the bamboo frames (xia cu); 11. Sorting the cocoons (ze jian); 12. Placing the cocoons in baskets (jiao jian); 13. Silk reeling (lian si); 14. Silkmoth (can e); 15. Offering sacrifice to the Goddess of Sericulture (si xie); 16. Weft (wei); 17. Weaving (zhi); 18. Spooling (luo si); 19. Preparing warp yarns (jing); 20. Dyeing (ran se); 21. Weaving patterned silk (pan hua); 22. Cutting silk bolts (jian bo); 23. Making clothes (cheng yi)."
