The panel is decorated with a landscape containing 2 wading birds (cranes?) amongst plant motifs (reeds ?). On one side is what appears to be a palm tree. At the top are 2 more of the larger birds depicted in flight. These are surrounded by 3 smaller birds (swallows ?), and curvilinear motifs (possibly semi-abstract insect motifs ?). The set of a wider border framed by narrower borders surrounding all sides consists of different floral motifs. The shorter sides have an additional lattice-patterned border, and another of the narrower borders.",

The decoration (likely in preparation to dyeing) consists of a centre panel and a different number of borders on shorter and longer sides. The panel is decorated with a landscape containing 2 wading birds (cranes?) amongst plant motifs (reeds ?). On one side is what appears to be a palm tree. At the top are 2 more of the larger birds depicted in flight. These are surrounded by 3 smaller birds (swallows ?), and curvilinear motifs (possibly semi-abstract insect motifs ?). The borders surrounding all sides consist of a wider band containing scrolled floral motifs, framed by narrow borders decorated with an undulating floral pattern. On the shorter sides is an additional wider band, and a repeat of the narrower border. The wider band contains a lattice pattern, with the sides of the lattice created by leaf-like motifs. Each small field contains a quatre-foil motif. The wax used seems to contain small mica particles. The majority is cream-coloured, but  some accents are more green in colouring."
