            "value": "Single membrane drum \nMuseum no. 9.591\nNkundo, Congo\nThe shell is carved from a solid piece of wood and is shaped like a bottle kiln.\nThe leather head is attached by thongs which pass straight down the wide part of the shell and are woven round the stem. A small membrane closes the lower end.\nA number of heavy pellets are enclosed within the drum.\nThe upper part of the body is painted with alternate stripes of red and white.\nA basket handle is attached to the network of thongs."
