A sacred object, shaped like a horn. Benin City. This is either an oko (a horn) or an akohẹn (a flute). Oko are frequently used by priests to evoke spirits and by traditional doctors to drive away witches when attending to a patient that may have been afflicted by a witch. Oko can also serve as an object of commemoration. The rim of this object is decorated with concentric rings. Lizards embellish the rims and the main body of the object. Made by Igun Eronmwon guildmembers (bronze and brass casters).
