The collection contains records covering the governance of the charity including minutes and other meeting papers of its committee, steer groups, and its annual general meetings and trustees meetings; financial records detailing membership subscriptions and funds raised; photographs of members of the Friends at various events; publicity material for Friends events held at the Horniman Museum and Gardens, records of away days, trips and events for Friends held outside the Museum; memorials and obituaries for deceased members; copies of the Friends of the Horniman Newsletter and related publications; and information assembled by members on the history of the charity. The Friends were integrated into the Horniman Museum and Gardens membership scheme in 2017.",
