The article mentions the edition has a great deal of the latest acquisitions, it\u2019s much larger than the previous edition and that it \u2018contains a very good portrait of Mr. Horniman\u2019. It mentions the increase in popularity of the museum is due to the extra day (Monday) the museum is open and the improvements made to the various rooms. The article continues by describing, in depth, the new department which is dedicated to the Bible and Manuscripts. It lists the rare and valuable editions within this department such as: Matthewe\u2019s Version printed in 1549; Cranmer\u2019s Version printed in London 1541; Coverdales\u2019s Bible printed in 1550; Greek New Testament printed in 1628 and the Psalms printed in 1618; English black letter Bible printed in 1601 (Geneva version); Fox\u2019s Book of Martyrs printed in 1583; A Greek New Testament printed 1521 and also in the first Roman Catholic Testament printed in 1582; a Latin Psalter printed in 1477 above Erasmus New Testament printed in London 1538; a large illustrated Bible and Common Prayer printed in 1721; A New Testament printed in 1584; a small Bible printed in 1558; A Greek Testament printed in 1521; Luther\u2019s Bible printed 1522 and a Venetian Bible printed in 1480. The article notes a few interesting manuscripts such as Sermons by Hugo de Prato written in 1443; prayers to the Virgin Mary about 1470; Decrees of Popes Boniface and Clement written in Latin in 1380. There is a mention of an arrival of a Chinese temple bell taken from a Buddhist Temple at Kuhlan a town on the Island of Tylo in November 1854 by Captain Rooney, the bell measures 27 inches high and 56 inches in circumference at the base. In another room the article mentions a Chinese table and couch brought from Ningpo in 1860 and two large Chinese oil paintings. A mention of two curious forms of Burmese Buddhas with one lying down and right arm resting on a pillow and the other placed on a carved wooden dragon making it unique and interesting.
