        "system": "The collection appears to have been arranged and annotated prior to or after its arrival at the Horniman Museum (possibly by Edward Wayland himself). Several of the plates were wrapped in newsprint dated 1960, suggesting the date this sorting took place, and many of the plates were still kept in their original box (circa 1920s). This arrangement of the collection has been retained as much as possible. Prints and negatives found together in annotated envelopes have been kept together. Envelopes documenting individual negatives and prints have been retained, numbered and filed under ARC\/WYL\/001."
