            "value": "The cloth is woven by men from hand-spun cotton, and dyed  by women.  The cloth is first dyed yellow using a vegetable dye.  The pattern is painted on with a solution of mud.  Surplus mud is washed off and the yellow part of the cloth is painted over with caustic soda, bleaching the yellow so that the cloth is off white and dark brown.  This technique is a form of resist dyeing."
