            "value": "Moccasins are normally made from the hides of moose, elk, deer or buffalo. Rawhide will have been used to make the hard-soled moccasins. The soles of soft moccasins generally came up around the side of the foot and are gathered at the top of the toes. During the production process, moccasins will have been sewn inside out using leather pushed through holes made in the actual moccasin. \n\nMoccasins are decorated accordingly depending on the tribe after the moccasin was sewn. Beads and embroidery are common additions to moccasins. Some tribes cover the entire moccasin in decoration while others leave certain areas blank. Mocassins made for burial will often be decorated even on the bottom of the soles."
