            "value": "\"Echo Elite\" harmonica, mouth organ, mouth blown free reed instrument. Model number: 8334\/80. Rectangular body with rounded corners, finished in red Bakelite with chrome trim.  An embossed metal  band incorporating seven ridges encircles the instrument. At the centre of the top surface, vents have been cut in the band to silhouette the word 'HOHNER'. The front face has forty square holes arranged in two parallel rows of twenty. Each hole leads to a metal free reed inside. The reeds are laid out in diatonic tremolo pattern.  The instrument has a three octave range, of which only the middle one is complete,  the upper and lower octaves are stepped to give useful chordal patterns.  Each note has two reeds tuned slightly differently from eachother to give a tremolo effect. Original cardboard case, which follows the shape of the harmonica. A line offset to the left of case divides the case proper from the lid. Upper surface in four sections. On the left, the front half is red and the back half is blue with the word: HOHNER; in silver. On right side, the back half red and the front half blue with: ECHO ELITE; in silver. The metal surface of the case corresponding to mouth holes is domed with: 'HOHNER' embossed at its centre."

            "value": "Probably made in the 1950s to a design from the 1930s. Given by D.S. Black, Horniman Museum Visitor Services. the reeds are laid out in diatonic tremolo pattern, the instrument has a range of three octaves, of which only the middle one is complete, the upper and lower octaves are stepped to give a tremolo effect. The instrument is finished in red bakelite with chrome trim. It is complete with its original cardboard case in bright red and blue. model number 8334\/80. Arch file contains photocopy of advert reading: Hohner Echo-Elite. Superb Hohner Quality in sensational streamline style. These may be described as perfectly streamlined, a new departure in shape and beauty. The Echo-Elite double-sided harmonicas with thier delightful appearance and handy all-metal casing represent the most modern achievement in artistic colour combination.
