            "value": "Shepherd's walking stick duct flute. Fluier b\u01d0t\u01ce. Donated by Romanian People's Republic Museum of Peasant Art. The instrument was aquired by that museum from Ion Jurc\u01ce (b. 1895), peasant of Rumanian nationality from Junca de Jos, Western Mountains, Region of Cluj, Romania.  (RPR Museum notes (1957): \"In the Mo\u0163i zone of the Western Mountains, entire villages have become specialised in the art of flute making.\" RPR Museum of Peasant Art painted inscription at distal end: Fluier-b\u01d0t\u01ce Junca-Mare Zona Brad; Unstained maple. Blown from the rear, the block flush with the top of the pipe. 6 finger holes grouped 3+3 . 1 vent hole carved obliquely at back below the fingerholes. Length: 113 cm. Tools used - small knife, red-hot poker. Made in one day at Ion Jurc\u01ce's home. Romanian Exhibition, Horniman Museum, 1957. 'Folk Art of Romania' Exhibition, Horniman Museum 12\/7\/84-13\/1\/85. No. 299 in catalogue. Cylindrical shape. One end of the flute is closed with a 'stopper'."

            "value": "This flute was donated with a collection of artefacts by the Romanian Peoples' Republic Museum of Peasant Art in 1957. The Museum's documentation  transferred to the Horniman with the instrument states that  'In the Mo\u0163i zone of the Western Mountains, entire villages have become specialised in the art of flute making'.   The flute's maker, Ion Jurc\u01ce, used  a small knife and a red-hot poker to fashion the flute in the course of one day at his home."

            "value": "Fluier bita (b\u01d0t\u01ce), shepherd's walking stick flute, duct flute. A cylindrical, slightly curved pipe of unstained maple, stopped at the distal end. The flute is held vertically. The block is flush with the top of the pipe, and the mouth or window is at the back. Six finger holes are burnt out in two groups of three on the upper part of the front face. One vent hole is carved obliquely at the back below the level of the finger holes."
