            "value": "This wooden lur is bound with birch bark. The instrument and the mouthpiece which extends from the top of the tube are carved from a single piece of wood.  Larger wooden trumpets are usually made in two halves. Bark-covered wooden lurs, and lurs consisting of a cone of coiled bark  were used all over Scandinavia for herding cattle.  They were also effective in frightening away wild animals that threatened the herds."
