            "value": "Dosho duct flute, the bamboo tube decorated with a lattice pattern. Seven fingerholes and one thumbhole.\nThe local Thai name for this flute is Khlui. It is almost certainly from Thailand, not from Japan. The lattice pattern decoration is distincitively Thai. This information was given by the ethnomusicologist, Supeena Insee Adler, a specialist in Thai instruments, visiting from UCLA. 2 August 2022, MWaitzman. Although the accession register says 'Japan', this is most likely where it was collected rather than where it was made.",

            "value": "Dosho, duct flute. Bamboo pipe with an opened node close to the distal end. Proximal end cut square and plugged with a block positioned flush with the rim. The mouth is long, narrow and rectangular and is positioned on the underside. Seven round fingerholes and one thumb hole, which is positioned beneath the first finger hole. There are also four vent holes at the lower end, postioned at the front, back and sides. Another side hole, above the finger holes, has been plugged. The entire surface decorated in pokerwork with representations of anchors in an interlaced framework forming lozenge shaped spaces."
