It was made in circa 1987, and bought for 10 million pesos. It was collected on 25 February 1987 from the maker by Henry Stobart. The instrument is made in two halves of a straight branch of jarka (Albizia) wood bound together with ox tendons; the block with protruding proximal end is made of charka-uma (Proustia cuneifolia) wood, sealed with beeswax or fat. Half-moon-shaped windway. Overall length: 66.2 cm. Sounding length: 61.8 cm."

            "value": "The pinkillu duct flutes are used seasonally in the Nor Chichas province of Bolivia, from where they originate.   The lawatu pinkillus played in the Yura area make their first appearance of the year at the Fiesta de los Reyes (Epiphany), on 6 January.  The entry into Yura town square of a group of lawatu players and caja drummers from the hamlet of Churgas is heard in this recording. Others in the band whistle along with the tune, and the blasts of an official on the pulilitu  horn are also a prominent feature."

            "value": "Lawatu pinkullu, chopi pinkullu, duct flute. This instrument is made from a tube of jarka wood (genus Albizia), straight and with a slight conical taper inwards towards the bottom. The instrument is made in two halves, which are bound together with ox tendons, which are wrapped around the body in thirteen places. The distal end has a beak, which accommodates a block made of chark-uma wood (Proustia cuneifolia), sealed with besswax or fat. The block protrudes slightly from the end of the beak. The mouth is small and square with a chamfered lower lip. Six large round finger holes are positioned between the ox tendons on the lower part of the instrument."

            "value": "The pinkillu duct flutes are used seasonally in the Nor Chichas Province of Bolivia, from where they originate.
