            "value": "Duct flute; local (Quecha) name 'rollano' pinkillo. Made by Melchor Delgado Martinez (the brother of Dionicio D.M.), Estancia Hurak'asa, near Vitichi, Province Nor Chichas, Department Potosi, Bolivia, made circa 1987, price 6 mil. pesos. Collected on 25 february 1987 from the maker by Henry Stobart. The instrument made in two halves of a curved branch of jarka (Albizia) wood, bound together with ox tendons; the block with protruding proximal and  made of charka-uma (Proustia cuneifolia) wood, sealed with beeswax or fat. Trapezium shaped windway. Rubbed with llama fat before being played. Played between August and end of October during the dry season. Overall length: 49.3 cm, sounding length: 45.5 cm."

            "value": "Rollano pinkillu, duct flute. A straight cylindrical pipe of jarka wood ( family Albizia). The wood has been spilt laterally to carve out the bore, the two halves bound with bands of ox tendon in twelve places including between each finger hole. Six round finger holes of uneven size arranged in two groups of three towards the distal end. The distal rim of the pipe is choked, with the a round distal face surrounding a small round hole. A beak carved at the proximal end, the lower edge of which is cut at an angle but has a short section  at the end where it is parallel with the upper edge. A block of charka-uma wood (Proustia cunifolia) is inserted which extends slightly from the top of the beak. This protruding section is rectangular in cross section and has a slightly rounded end. A mouth is cut into the front face. It meets the bore in a square shape and has a long chamfered lower edge, which  meets the surface at a curve."

The two halves are bound with twelve bands of ox tendon.  A beak-shaped mouthpiece is carved at the proximal end.  A block of charka-uma wood (Proustia cuneifolia) is inserted and is sealed with beeswax or fat.  It extends slightly from the top of the beak. The entrance to the windway is trapezium shaped in section.  A square mouth or window with a long chamfered lower edge is cut into the front of the the tube.  Six large, round finger holes are arranged in two groups of three towards the distal end,  This is is partially stopped by a wooden disc with a small central hole."
