M31-1985\nSeraikella Chhau dance ensemble, Seraikella, India\nMr Gopal Presad Dubey, Seraikella dancer, Seraikella, Singh-Bhum, Bihar, India (vendor) \u00a360\nWooden shell barrel-shaped tapering asymetrically.\nHide heads (of skins of two different animals?) tensioned by strips of leather.\nLength: 63 cm.\nDiameter of larger head (excluding tension hoop: 25 cm.)\nDiameter of smaller head (excluding tension hoop: 23.5 cm.)\nCrack in shell under acquisition number, sprox. 22 cm long.\nSeraikella Chhau dance ensemble consists of muhari (transverse flute) M29-1985, 2 dhols (M30-1985 and M31-1985) and nagara (M32-1985) (kettledrum). The dancers wear jingling pellet bells on their ankles.\nSee M35-1985 Dhumsa (large kettledrum) for documentation."
