Vendor: Rumillajta Instruments, 119 Ashley Road, Bristol BS6 5NU. Panpipe made in Bristol UK in December 1990 by Adrian Villanueva using materials which he brought with him from Bolivia. Three ranks of twelve bamboo pipes of graduated lengths, stopped at the base by a node and bound together in the form of a raft with strips of bamboo and lengths of wool. Range: 3 octaves g to g''. Proximal rank ranges from a to g'''. Middle rank ranges from g sharp to f sharp'''. Distal rank ranges from g to f'''. Length of longest pipe (g): 429 mm, length of shortest pipe (g'''): 61 mm. Width of instrument 152 mm, depth: 67 mm. Mr Villanueva provided the following information about M32: He tuned it using a KORG electronic tuner from Japan. Chromatic panpipes are a fairly recent development in Bolivian music and theyare used solely in the urban music tradition."

            "value": "Siku-malta-cromatico, panpipes. 36 bamboo pipes are arranged in three rows of 12. The pipes of each row are positioned in graduated order of length with their rims aligned. Each pipe is made from an internodal section of bamboo and each is stopped at the bottom by a node. Two strips of bamboo bark are positioned laterally along the front and back of the instrument near the top, and the pipes are secured to them by a length of black wool, which is threaded between the pipes and over the strips. A band of black wool is also tied round the longer pipes midway down. The ends of both wool bands are threaded with small coloured beads and terminate in tassels that hang from the treble side of the instrument. The instrument is tuned to produce a chromatic scale over three octaves, from G3 (g) to G6(g'''), divided into one octave per row."
