Formed from two flat pieces of iron that have been welded together at the sides, each end tempered to form the bells and bent at the centre to form a V shape. Elaborately bound at the apex with plaited vegetable fibre. Attached to the bells with string is the beater, a thick piece of wood, the beating end bound with animal skin stuffed with hair or vegetable fibre padding. This animal skin is stitched together and sealed with resin."
