The flat back of maple is made of two pieces with a fold at the shoulder and decorated with inlaid knots. The pine belly has two main pieces and four wings. It has double purfling and is pierced by C-shaped sound holes. Medium arching. A decorative motif inlaid in purfling with point d'aguille work lies beneath the fingerboard. No rose. The pegbox terminates in a finial, carved in the form of a lion's head. The original top block still retains the marks from two original nail locations. A label on the inside reads: 'George Miller in Vine Court, without Bishopsgate 1669'. The label is dirty and the last digit in the date is now indistinct."
